You may need to first launch the relevant applications and allow them to actively or passively deliver at least one notification each, so that they will appear in the list. The underlying logic of Android is that an application is excluded from the list by default if it has not sent any notification.
None of the messaging apps I usually use display notification icons. Only the Messenger, WeChat, Whatsapp app shows them. Therefore, I hope Honor can allow more apps to display notification icons.
