In the last 5 years, China´s aviation safety level is nearly 10 times of the world´s average, IATA CEO Tony Tyler said Wednesday. China´s accident rate, measured in "hull losses" per 1m flights, is 0.06 while the world average is 0.58. IATA data shows that about 38m flights arrived safely at the destination last year. That translated into an accident rate, measured in "hull losses" per 1m flights, of 0.23, or the equivalent of one in every 4.4m flights, also a record low.
