Dedovshchina is Russian for the unofficial practice of initiation or hazing of junior conscripts of the Soviet Armed Forces. It can be literally translated as “rule of the grandfathers.”

俄语里头，他们用这个词来描述——Dedovshchina，指的是对新兵进行非正式的惩戒，其字面意思是指“祖父的规矩”。
