The mobile phone is the most common media for reading, with 38.7% of people reading via phones, according to a report. The Urban Reading Index Research Report published recently is the first of its kind in China. Paper (27.3%) and computer (17.2%) rank second and third. The reason why most people choose mobile phone reading are for convenience and low-cost. In terms of paper reading, 50% of the people choose teenage and children´s books. In terms of regions, people in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen buy the biggest number of books per capita.
